iPad Mini Retina Cases?

Hey guys. This is my first major Apple i-something purchase since the first generation iPod Touch. Had the iPhone 5S for about a week, but returned it to get the Galaxy Note 3 instead. Anyway, I was wondering was anyone investing in a case and/or cover outside of the ones Apple has on their website? I love my Spigen cases for my Note 3, and saw that Spigen has a similar case for the Mini-R planned to launch in early December. Planned delivery date for my Retina is Nov. 22-26, so trying to get something in hand before or as soon as I have my tablet. Any suggestions?

I got this one. Came in about a week ago... my rMini should be here on Monday. Should give it some protection while adding almost no bulk. And the price is great!

I can tell you the ipad mini retina is just a hair thicker and would not sit in my Zagg Keys a Cover Bluetooth keyboard. Might not work in some tight fitting cases.

Well scratch that, it fits, but very snugly.

I have the Coral Smart Cover and a basic Herschel sleeve. I'm probably going to replace my sleeve with a nice leather one.

Start with the zaggkeys cover hinge in the closed position. Work the mini in from bottom left. It's tight but it fits.

Thanks for the suggestion. I still can't get it to work for some reason. But now that I've had some time with it, I think I prefer the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio. I generally only take it with me when I know I'll have a bit of typing to do, or when out of town, so the added size isn't too much of a concern. It's makes quite a nice "netbook."

Still undecided about a general purpose case. Picked up a Smart Case and not thrilled with it. I'd prefer the cover to magnetically snap to the back like some of the cheaper (but heavier) Amazon cases do. I'll likely just use a Smart Cover and skin the back for minimal protection.

I'm gonna try the smart cover with a clear TPU case to protect the back I also ordered a Poetic case (with smart case feature). I tried the smart case with my iPad air and returned it. Although it was pretty slim it wasn't as slim and streamlined as the Poetic case (with smart case feature) that I purchased.

The Logitech Ultrathin is junk. I have one for my iPad and it bent when I picked it up. The slot where the iPad sits is to thin and a weak point. Their fabric folio is pretty nice and pricey.

I agree about the Folio. I've been looking for keyboards for the mini since the summer and just happened upon this one while at the Apple store this week. So far, so good.

I was looking at both Logitech models at best buy. It seemed like the ultra thin was a bit flimsy for the regular iPad. But it seemed ok for the Mini. IMO: Could be the difference in size.

I tried the Logitech ultra thin for the original mini, but I didn't like the angle at which the mini sat in the slot. The Folio provide a better viewing angle (for me).

One other thing about the Fabric Folio is it gets dirty EXTREMELY easy.
