iPad Mini 4 charging issues

I am having charging issues on my iPad Mini 4 since the last two months. I have the latest software update ( iOS 10.1.1) and my charging port is not damaged either. Unplugging the charger and plugging in again sometimes work but it doesn't charge all the time.
I am waiting to change this with iPad Mini 5 once it releases, but till then I have to continue with this tablet. Any help would be highly appreciated.

If none of these suggestions work I would take it to apple and see what they say.

charging cables can go bad. I have had it happen to me
