iPad help

So I have an iPhone 4s that has iCloud back up and an iPad 1. Just pre ordered the new one aka 3. Do I use the same iCloud sign in info on the iPad? I want to restore the new one with the stuff on the old one. Does iCloud know the difference when restoring that it's the iPad not iPhone? Or do I just go by dates? Thanks in advance

Just sign in with the same Apple ID. Your iCloud stuff will sync to your new device.

Right but I want my iPad stuff to sync not iPhone stuff. Do I just chose the date I backed up iPad?

They are separate backups and it will install the iPad one, no need to worry.
