Sound like a headset issue. I have not had any problems with headset or Beats wireless or in car audio.

Should I update my software to iOS 9.3.5? I've seen reviews about the software and most of them end up lagging. So can you help me out?

Yes....ASAP. The update to 9.3.5 in the Pegasus Spyware patch. While it's highly unlikely ur infected, its the one of if the most malicious malware/spyware ever. That said, iOS 10 rolls out on the 13th. It's your call.

The last two updates (9.3.4 and 9.3.5) were all about security. If you are on 9.3.3 currently there's no reason not to update.
