Is it a specific app that causes it to crash? does it just randomly crash? If I knew the answers to these questions it would be a little more helpful. Just to address the general question I would say you should hook up to iTunes and backup the iPad. Right click the iPad in iTunes and choose backup. Then once it's backed up restore which will reload iOS. Then after it's reloaded restore from the backup and see if you still have the same issue.
