here is my question.

I have my current iPhone 4 on iOs 5.0.0, firmware 04.10.01 and its unlocked with GEVEY Sim Ultra, is there a way to go to the iOs 5.0.1 jailbroken without upgrading my firmware?

Do I have to update to 5.0.1 first with a preserved baseband? Or can I also upgrade, jailbreak, and preserve the baseband all at once from redsn0w? I've jailbroken many times before but when I was on the software I'm trying to jailbreak, not upgrading to one.

When the new snowbreeze or pwnage tool comes out to support untethered 5.0.1 thats when you can preserve the baseband.

All of the tools in Snowbreeze are included in redsn0w

So I just created a custom ipsw with no baseband update for 5.0.1

So should I upgrade to that ipsw, then jailbreak using the ipsw with no baseband upgrade?
