Is anyone else having trouble with Messenger? The iOS 17 download went fine but now Messenger won’t load at all. It immediately crashes.

Don’t use anything but iMessage, it sounds like you need to update the app

It’s completely up to date.

There was an update to the app 6 hours ago, to fix this exact problem and offer support for iOS 17.

While I know that the RC is the same as the official release, I could have sworn that in previous years beta users got both the RC and the official release?

I was hoping they’d fixed something between the RC and the official one because my 13 Pro runs really hot, lots of freezing (in both Apple and 3rd party apps) and some apps are next to unusable (CapitalOne, for example, is incredibly slow … like 1-2 minutes just to log in and then to see accounts it’s another ~30 seconds - absolutely not normal behavior). If it were still the pre-release betas, I’d just chalk it up to beta behavior, but if this is the same release as the general … I’m also unable to rate apps since I’m still on the technically beta RC…which seems odd if it’s meant to be the same as the general release.

I really don’t want to do a reset

(Note: yes, I did turn off beta updates)

It’s the same thing on the iPhone 11 Pro.

I also lost about 2 hours on battery with the update. Instead of being at 40% at 12:00 (off charge at 7:00), I’m around 20%.

I’m downloading iOS 17 as we speak. I checked my iPhone storage even though I know I have plenty but it said my system data is 14.93 GB. Is it normal for it to be that big?

I consider it too much… but then again, iOS + System Data uses around 42% of the storage on my phone.

This is something Apple needs to give their users control over.
