I have found a way to report spam messages to Verizon. After I report the message I then block the sender’s number.

How to Report Spam message

Press and hold on message
Tap more
Click on forward arrow
Forward message to 7726
Tap send

Then receive the following message and reply with sender’s number.

VZW FREE MSG: Thank you for reporting spam. Please reply with the sender's number. Messages sent to 7726 are shared with security providers to help prevent spam
