I had some wonkiness with the Driving focus profile. It wouldn’t switch on when it should, and stay off when it shouldn’t.

Other than that, I noticed that there is now a setting to keep iCloud Private Relay off on a given network.

What do the focus modes do?

I gotta be honest, this betas battery life hasn't been the best but I understand it's a beta. Hopefully things get better with .4

Focus is a new feature that filters notifications and apps based on what a user wants to focus on. Customers can set their device to help them be in the moment by creating a custom Focus or selecting a suggested Focus, which uses on-device intelligence to suggest which people and apps are allowed to notify them. Focus suggestions are based on users’ context, like during their work hours or while they’re winding down for bed, and when Focus is set on one Apple device, it automatically applies to their other Apple devices. Users can create Home Screen pages with apps and widgets that apply to moments of focus to only display relevant apps and reduce temptation. When a user’s Focus is blocking incoming notifications, their status is automatically displayed to others in Messages, reflecting that a user is not currently reachable.

Asterisk on the automatically displays in Messages. That is a configurable setting :)

To add to all that, it replaces the Do Not Disturb features. I do not know if DND is completely gone, or only removed when Focus is enabled.

I will note that the Driving focus behaviour is more consistent when I switched from “Automatic” to “When connected to car Bluetooth” even when I use CarPlay and I don’t use Bluetooth at all.

I finally had the opportunity to setup my iPhone as new and everything thus far is running smoothly. All of my apps work and I was able to rid the phone of apps I no longer used consistently.

This release seems to have broken some apps, including Audible which crashes at every phone call. I also have sony headphones which cannot upload the updates to the headset. Not sure what's causing it in the new update.

I have noticed that Tapatalk might black screen itself and require a force kill to start. Only on iOS and not iPadOS.
