iOS 12 makes me think next iPad Pro will have no home bottom and a notch with Face ID.

My iPad 10.5 now has room for a notch. It also has the swipe up gestures to close apps like the iPhone X. Makes me think the next iPad will have no home button and will have Face ID with a notch. I think iOS 12 confirms this. You can see there is room for a notch now.

Definitely the new iPad is coming with Face ID and no home button. The interface and interaction is a dead giveaway.

Still on my 1st gen iPad Pro and cant wait for third gen to drop (hopefully with faceid and minimum bezel)!

Love iOS12 on my iPad - very happy I can add more folders/apps to the dock and clean up the home screen!

One thing I still don’t understand is why Apple got rid of the left/right split widget screen from iOS 10 in iOS 11. I was hoping it would return in 12...

FaceID would be a very likely bet, a notch on the other hand, why would they need to the iPad has plenty of room and bezel space unless they go bezelless like the X.

I think Apple gives us hints of what's to come with iOS a lot of the time. For example, the Messaging app icons at the bottom of the screen foreshadowed the removal of the home button on the iPhone X, imo. I agree with your prediction. Would make sense for them to move towards Face ID on the iPad considering they introduced Touch ID in the iPads after first bringing it to the iPhone 5S.
