iOS 10 public beta still listed in upgrades

iMore Question

My son signed up for the public beta of iOS10 and decided he didn't want to try it out yet. He un-enrolled in the beta program but it still shows in the upgrade screen. He never actually installed any of the iOS10 betas but now it won't go away and it doesn't show him the upgrade to 9.3.5 that came out yesterday. He is currently running 9.3.4. Does anyone know how to get rid of the beta install that is showing? Thanks!

  1. Enter Recovery mode by turning off your iPhone or iPad, then holding the Home button (on the front, below the screen) on your iPhone or iPad. This can take a while, so don't give up after a few seconds.
  2. When it says 'Connect to iTunes', do exactly that - plug it into your Mac or PC and open up iTunes.
  3. iTunes will tell you that it's detected an iPhone or iPad in Recovery Mode, and that this needs to be restored - click OK to agree to this, and then Restore iPhone or Restore iPad (as appropriate).
  4. Finally, choose the option to Restore and Update. iTunes will download the latest version of iOS 9 and install it on your Apple device.

There is actually a much easier way.

- remove the beta configuration profile under General and then Profile tab in settings App

- then also in General, click on Storage and iCloud Usage. Then click in Manage Storage under the regular Storage and then swipe to delete the update of 10.0.

- Now just turn phone off and turn on an now 9.3.5 update will show up
