When using the messaging you can see when someone is replspindibg to you. Does the same occurrence apply when I am using the "details" feature to track their location?

Welcome to iMore! If you have "read receipt" toggled on in Settings > Messages, then yes if you open the messages app they can see you have read their text. But I doubt they could know you were viewing their location. I'm not sure. I never use that. You can toggle "read receipt" off. Maybe someone else can shed more light than I.
