Hi I have had an in-car holder/charger installed. Problem is: the screen goes black after a while and renders the use of mapping/routing impossible. Every time, I have to slide to unlock to make the screen come alive again.
Is there a setting I am missing... ???

Thanks for any help

I agree with Tramain.

I love the auto lock but it has to be off for turn by turn apps

Apple NEEDS to add a setting where I can have it auto lock on battery but always stay on when charging.

that would be a great idea.

I use maps all the time (terrible with directions) and i have a stick shift car, so imagine trying to juggle an iphone, shifting gears, paying attention to the road, and sliding with a thumb.. bout damn impossible.

I turned off the auto-lock feature, and in supreme preferences(jb only) turned auto-dim to NEVER. this works perfectly, i just get it ready before i drive, then change it when I get out of my car, it only takes 3 slides :)

YEah the maps never really work unless you have the tom tom

I used the maps app on a 10 day trip in New England. It worked perfectly fine.

Tom Tom would have just been easier for the turning aspect but TripIt doesn't integrate with Tom Tom in the same way it does the maps app
