I posted a message and was told it needed to be approved by a moderator. It was simply a link to an article I found which was a video interview with an app developer which I thought would be of interest.
Now, a day later, it still hasn't been approved.
Well guys, the best way to ruin a forum is stifle conversation and it is highly unlikely I'll bother starting another discussion.
If you are moderating new threads, at least do it in a timely manner.

I *think* you need to have x number of posts before you can provide links, but I could be mistaken.
See the General Posting Guidelines in the feedback section of the iMore Help & Discussion forum.

Thanks for the reply, but it's coming up to two days now from my original post which is shockingly slow. I mainly lurk as I don't really have much to say and it is very frustrating when I find something that the community might like and it just doesn't appear on the forum. Really not going to bother in the future, I'll go back to lurking.

Sorry that it has taken them a while to get to your link. Moderators do have a life, though, and with it being summer time it may take them longer to get to certain things if they are busy doing things with their family and friends. It is done this way to cut done on the amount of spam that is posted in the forum by new members who only sign up to put their spam on the forum and then never return. Hopefully you will stay here and continue to post on the main forums. This way you will get enough posts to allow you to post a link on your own without the moderation first requirement... Welcome to iMore, btw. :)

That was on my list of posts to look at. It was listed as posted at about 5:00am on Saturday morning. I was out yesterday, and am just getting a chance to look at the moderation needs this morning.

You also posted the same link/thread to two different forums. When you do this, it usually comes off as a spam attempt (someone posting links to their own apps, for example). As Irish said, moderators do have other things going on - we try to be as fast as possible, but sometimes we ask for a little patience as well.

The reason I posted it in different areas is because as it didn't appear a day after posting it, I assumed it was because I had put it in the wrong place. Thanks for the replies though.

I do understand how difficult it is running a forum. I set one up and ran one with many thousands of users, having to deal with legal threats etc for about 6 years, so I know how much work it is. I also ran that form while holding down a full time job and having a family to occupy.
