I'm about to buy a new iMac but I've not decided yet which one. I work with video (video editing - FCP X and some other NLEs), motion graphics, image processing and manipulation, VFX and music. I'm undecided in two options mainly because the graphic cards. Which one is best? NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5 or the AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB GDDR5? AMD is only on the 5K iMac model but the price is higher on that machine? I'm not concerned about Thunderbolt 1 or 2 neither the Retina display, however I know that's the best to have. I'm not concerned too with the i7 at 4.0, 3.5 is good to me.
I know that Adobe apps take advantage on NVIDIA chips, however on these mobile graphic cards I don't know how much that advantage will be? I think AMD is best for video but I'm not certain on that? For 3D NVIDIA is best too but I we are not talking about the High-End chips.
So? Does anyone have some solid knowlegde to share?
