ive been reading a lot and also done some research about jailbreaking and ive been wanting to jb my iphone 3g but since it has the OS 3.0 update i need help figuring out what are the things that i need to know before i start jb. and also ive been wandering has anybody been completely succesful to jb on 3.0 and if they can you help me. plz and thnxs

Use Redsn0w for the JB and THE CORRECT FIRMWARE, both can be downloaded in Tipb. Don't be worried if redsn0w crashes the first time, it's common. Just switch the phone off and start again. All's good...

Not true. You can use either. I actually had issues with Cydia and Icy worked fine.
