If you change the hard drive in the non-retina MacBook Pro by yourself, will it void the warranty?

I'm just not happy anymore with the traditional HDs and the retina MacBooks are beyond my budget.

I don't think so... If it concerns you, you could always have an Apple GeniusBar do it for you... or Apple Authorized Service Center.

I have always upgraded hard drives and ram on mbps, it does not void warranty. but contacting apple care would put your mind at ease.
