If iMessage has been offline on your mac do messages show up when you go online?

Just wondering, I know when you delete messages off your phone they don't delete off the computer. Just wondering if the application was offline if the messages received on your phone during that time would appear when you went back online.

Sent iMessages will appear on the receiving device once it is online. If the iPhone or Mac was offline when an iMessage was sent to it, the message will be received when either device is back online.
