if i delete photos from phone will they be be deleted from iPhoto on computer?

10,000 pictures were downloaded from iPhoto account to new 5s iPhone. I want to delete most of them but am afraid they will deleted from iPhoto account

Assuming you are in iOS 8+, you are right. I would suggest backing them up to your Mac or PC with your USB cable.
