If I buy an app and gift it to someone else, will it display in my purchased list?

I just want to ask, if I buy an app as a gift and gift it to somebody else, then will I still own it? Will it still be in my purchased section or will I have to buy it again? And will the same happen if I buy the app and have it installed in my iPhone THEN gift it? thanks so much for reading

I wouldn’t know. I have never gifted an app.
If you can’t find the answer in the FAQ section of Apple’s website, you should try it out yourself with a cheap app first.

I personally don’t use Family Sharing, but I’m wondering if that might be a possibility for you?

I’ve gifted apps before but I had already owned them myself so I can’t give you an honest answer.

If you "gift" an app, you don't own it yourself. You would need to make a separate purchase if you want to own in on your devices.

Gifts will not show up in your "Purchased" section. They will show up under "Gifts".
