If 3g is on along with WiFi...?

Can someone set this straight? If I have 3G service and WiFi at the same time will data services use 3G over WiFi or vice versa?

WiFi will be used no matter what if it is active.

Wifi is a lot faster than 3G (depending on what its connected to) and uses a lot less battery power.

I've been getting these results. EDGE x4= 3g x10= WiFi

Does the phone have to be set on 3G before it will operate at the fastest speed on wifi or does that setting matter for wifi??

My son got his new iphone3g yesterday and that thing is NEAT!!

3g and Edge have nothing to do with WiFi. So just turn WiFi on and you are good to go.
