I want to restore my ipad to its factory setting but I just want my photos to be backed-up. Is this a good backing process?

I like it, I've had no problems with it except when I updated to 8.3 the servers were crowded it got stuck for a while, but by next morning everything was perfect.

I restored my iPhone 5 a month ago. I used Box,Dropbox and OneDrive to store my photos and videos. iCloud Photo Library probably works OK. But if you have a lot of photos and videos, you may have to purchase more iCloud storage. Your phone will have to be backed up as well.
