iCloud Drive - If this is disabled, where is the mail, contacts, ect, data stored?

When iCloud drive is disabled, a user can still toggle the Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Safari, Notes, News, and Wallets settings to on. Where is this data stored if the iCloud drive options are off?

The items you mentioned are automatically stored in iCloud on Apple's servers. They were always synced/saved to iCloud, and not the iCloud Drive where users can directly manipulate files and folders.
