I would like to pick some brains, regarding the icloud lock

hey gang,

I was thinking about the icloud lock and something came up into mind:

When you buy a new idevice you have to go thru the registration process, you could setup the device even without wifi, even without setup a itunes account. Now, when you have a idevice that is icloud locked, even if you reset, upgrade, reinstall the software, etc, you start with the need to first connect to the internet and then go thru the activaton process.

My question here is: what if it was possible to edit some file inside the idevice and make the idevice believe that this is a new setup rather then a icloud locked device? What am I trying to figure out is if its even possible to "hard reset", do not connect to the internet and "bypass" the icloud lock. I am sure that the moment you connect to the internet the idevice would lock itself again but I would like to see if it is possible to explorer this option.

any ideia? anyone has thought about that?

cheers
