I want to store my ipad photos on icloud but delete them off my ipad

I want to upload photos from my camera to my ipad and then sync with icloud. I then want to be able to delete them to free up room on my ipad but keep the photos on icloud.

Turn on iCloud Photo Library and let your photos sync to iCloud. Afterwards, disable iCloud Photo Library on your iPad.
