I want to convert Two-Step Activation to Two-Factor Authentication

Currently I have Two-Step Authentication activated, and I would like to change to Two-Factor Authentication. I am currently running OS 10.11 & iOs 9. I was in the public beta tester program for these operating systems, and it was reccomended not to make the change until the public release of the related programs.

My question relates to a any publication that lays out the steps for making this conversion, or your personal experience. Not interested in creating a problem for myself.

As far as I now they are the same thing. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.
