I want to add a foreign dictionary that is on my ipad but does not show up when I tap manage

I downloaded it into ibooks and it is accessible as a stand-alone book, but it doesn't show up as a dictionary when I tap "define" and then "manage"

That's not how you add dictionaries...when you look up a word, and hit 'Manage'...you can select from the list provided...you can't manually add dictionaries as far as I know.

Does anyone have any problems with dictionaries not saving when selected? I installed a dictionary but it will not stay selected the next time I search for a word. It remains installed, but not selected.
