i updated to sierra and my shift no longer works for cap letters

ever since updating my macbook air to sierra os, i cannot use my caps. even if i use the caps lock.

Did you go to settings > keyboards and reset all the settings there? You might have an option checked that is causing you issues.

If not you could always restore from the backup you made before upgrading your Mac, you did do a backup first right ??????
