I left iOS for a stint but have returned. The photos I had in photostream are no longer present. Why?

So I had a 4s and had tons of pics on it. I left iOS for a while and now I'm back (for now anyway) I logged in to my new 5s with my old account info but my photo stream from the 4s isn't showing. Am I missing something?

Do you still have your 4S? Might not have made a backup at all?

The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
