I keep receiving emails from myself even though I haven't sent them. Why is this?

It has only started happening since I updated my MacBook Pro to Mavericks OS X
These mails are rubbish like breast enlargement or pay day loans. They are happening sometimes every hour.
Sent to both my iPhone and ipad
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know why that's happening to you and can only *assume* your email account and/or computer has somehow been compromised. Try changing the password on your email account.
