I have to hard boot my Iphone 5s to be able to read or send a message with Whats App. my software is the latest. Can anybody tell me what the problem is?

Hard to say- try deleting the app and reinstalling- see if that helps. I have been using it fine last few days.

Try re-installing the app. If that doesn't helps, restore your iPhone.
