I don't have the invitee bar on my calendar

How do I add the ability to invite others on my calendar invites if the invitee bar is not there

Did you create the event? If someone else created the event, you can't edit or add invitees. If you created the event, then the option to add invitees should be there. Are you tapping "edit" in the top right corner?
You might also try a hard reset.
Hold the top power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release.
