I did the unthinkable with my Apple Leather case

So I've been using the Apple Leather case for over 2 weeks now. It's for my first ever iPhone btw. I kinda hated the dark blue shade of the case. And it gets darker around the edges, possibly due to natural oil and sweats on my hands. And tbh ?35 for the case is kinda expensive for something I'm not too keen with using (the colour shade;I love blue btw). So I decide to 'lighten' the shade and make the leather grain pop out more.

What I did was I used warm water mixed with little hand soap and gently rub the case with a make up remover cotton pad. Man the leather is so heavily colour dyed,I can't imagine using it with white pants

I rinsed it with cold water and used a hair dryer on medium heat to dry it off. I switched between cold and hot setting alternately

Here's the outcome

And tbh, I actually love this pale stressed leather look more. It's only my first attempt hence why the unevenness. I might play around with it again later. But for now,the case is perfect for me.

Let me know what you guys think.

Very cool! I have a dark blue leather case that I'm not using because I don't like how it's worn. My saddle brown case has worn wonderfully though!

The blue does get darker over time! Mine was almost black before I changed it out.

I know I've only had the case for just over 2 weeks but mine already goes dark around the edges before I did this. You can just about see it in the picture above. I suspect it's the natural oil on our hand that's causing the leather to go dark. I absolutely hate that unevenness. I also can't seem to get it off even after a thorough second wash with soap water.

Saddle brown is just too garish for my taste.

It's going to happen, and yes it's from your hands. :) the saddle brown changes too so it won't look the same after a bit. I have the regular brown and it is nothing like it was when I got it. I like it better now!

Just keep using it, it'll even out the more you do. Though with what you've done it may vary.
