I delete my emails and they keep coming back by the hundreds

i have deleted my email and then emptied trash but to no avail the next time I call up my emails i have hundreds again. how do i permanently get rid of them

Go to your actually email on a computer and delete them, it's sounds like you have a lot of emails and it's just pulling more down after you delete some.
