I am having trouble accessing my calendar while talking on my iPhone 6 Plus, how can I get it to work?

While on a call, I press the home button and tap on the calendar app but have to keep tapping and tapping and tapping and then I just give up

Welcome to iMore! Are you able to open other apps (besides Calendar) while on a call? You might want to perform a hard reset and see if that fixes your issue. To reset your device, hold the power button and home button down simulatneously until you see the Apple boot logo.
