How to stop a symlink in dropbox?

I have a symlink for a certain folder between my computer and Dropbox.
How to suppress that link without loosing the complete folder?

I understood that if I suppress the link by moving it to trash from the dropbox, it will delete the folder from my computer also. I don't see the solution.
