How to restore photos from Photos app on iMac to the iPhone

iMore Question

I reset my iPhone 6s plus after taking a backup on iTunes on my iMac. When trying to restore my backup I'm getting an error that my backup is corrupt!
When I opened the Photos app on iMac, I see all the photos that my iPhone had. Is there any way i can transfer these photos back to my iPhone from the iMac even if the restore backup didn't work?

If the photos on your iMac is associated with iCloud, specifically iCloud Photo Library, simply enable iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone to get those pics to sync to it.

I am not sure if there is a way to put them back into the Camera Roll, at least not without third-party software. I've seen iPhone apps that allow you to open a web page and drag files into it to accomplish this, or provide similar functionality in some other way. For example: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rollit-photo-transfer-app/id741790426?mt=8

If you don't want to do that, you could create another album in Mac Photos, and put your photos into it. Then when you sync your iPhone with iTunes you can select that album to sync with the iPhone.
