How to restore from backup of my old X if it was a 12.1 beta?....

I know it may not go here but I just got my max and wanted to know if there’s a way to restore from most recent backup ? Do I upgrade the new max to iOS 12.1 too?

I don’t think the beta is available for the XS phones yet. You will just have to setup as new since there is no way to restore from a 12.1 beta to 12.0.

You can’t restore from a higher level of software (12.1) to a lower level (12.0) by back up. You can only go from a lower to a higher.

Yes. During the setup of your new device, you will be promoted to install from an iCloud or an iTunes backup. Select your most recent backup.

Do I upgrade the new max to iOS 12.1 too?

iOS 12.1 is in the initial beta stages and since there isn’t an ipsw restore file for the iPhone XS, it is not recommended that you try to upgrade it to that iOS version.
