Hi there,
I have an iPad 4. I have forgotten its passcode. I have never backed up it via iTunes and I have never used Find My iPhone. In other words, the only way to remove the passcode it to put the iPad into Recovery Mode and the restore it. The installed iOS version is 6. I put my iPad in recovery mode and connect it to PC. Then, a window shows up like this:
I click on Restore iPad and the on Restore and Update.
In the next window, I click on "Next"
In the next window, I click on "Agree"
Then, iTunes starts downloading new iOS which is iOS 8 probably.
My problem is that I do not want to download new iOS. I just want to restore the iPad without updating to iOS 8. Please bear in mind that this iPad is disabled because I have forgotten the passcode. And, I have never backed up this iPad using iTunes or used Find My iPhone. How can I restore a LOCKED iPad without downloading iOS 8?
