Not sure if what you are referring to is deleting the app from the home screen? If that is the case then press very lightly over the application so the apps begin to jiggle and just press the x to remove the application. If you mean remove the widget from the new screen when sliding to the left, then you have to scroll down all the way to that bottom of and click on edit, that will allow you to choose what apps you want to show up or not. Hope this helps.
