My iPhone: iPhone7+
Software version: 15.7.1

When I tap the little keyboard microphone and use speech-to-text
my iPhone types JOSE when what I want it to type is just Jose.

The contact is in my Contacts as Jose, not JOSE.

How to get my iPhone to type Jose and not JOSE?

Solution??
Thanks!

I found that solution too, tried it (see screenshot attached),
and it did not work.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Any more thoughts?
Thanks!

Try Reset Keyboard Dictionary, and start fresh. Go to Settings > General > scroll down to Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary.

This did nothing.

I don't think Text Replacement has anything to do with using the mic to text. Try turning off auto-capitalization in Settings>General > Keyboards> auto-capitalization. This might stop CAPS when you need them, but try it for a while, then turn auto-capitalization back on. If it doesn't work, you can just type in Jose using text replacement. But I would make the shortcut short and simple. Like "js" for example. Or call Apple Support and see what they say.

You can try training it by going to Notes or somewhere and typing Jose. Then tap on the correct text on the keyboard. Do that several times. At least 10 times. Then try it using the mic.
