Ok.. So I just bought a 5S. I want to sell my jailbroken 4S on eBay.
I want to erase all my personal data and apps - BUT - still offer the phone as jailbroken to any buyer.

How do I leave my jailbreak (and Cydia) intact, but erase all traces of "me" off the phone?

Thanks!!

Any of the erase methods you'd want to use for the purposes of selling a phone will unfortunately result in loss of jailbreak and restoring to a current version of iOS as far as I know.

My latest backup was at IOS 6.1.2.. If I choose restore, wont it restore 6.1.2? Then I could re-jailbreak?
Apple does not sign iOS6 anymore... you'd need to have an ipsw with the blobs and all that saved to wipe and restore.

Is having it jailbroken worth anything extra in terms of resale value?

That's a good question.
I would assume that a buyer might like the option... For example, Apple TV2s normally sell at a higher price than Apple TV3s on ebay for that same reason. I'm actually watching a few auctions to see if thr jailbroken phones fetch a higher price.
I do save my blobs, BTW. Just unsure of the proceedure..

It CAN be done. There are 2 methods to do this; use either Semi-Restore or iLex Rat in Cydia. Both option WILL restore phone but preserve your jailbreak.

Yes. To some people it makes the device more valuable. I've sold my last few iPhones restored with a jailbreak and it brought a few more bucks.

Not really sure where I needed to post this....I had a 3G that was jailbroken. I ended up removing the jailbreak and going back to iOS. On the weather app I had a tweak that showed the current temperature. When I upgraded to the 4s I still had 87 stuck as the temperature. Now that I got the 5c I still have that 87. Any ideas how to remove that? 2013-10-11 14.16.37.png

My guess is that you restored from backup and some jb data transferred over. Not uncommon for that to happen. You can try restoring as new ad that should clear it out.

Just the thread I was looking for. However, I can't find any of those mods. Any tips on properly searching for them?

iLex seems to be the proffered method over Semi restore. Does anyone have any recommendations of one over the other?

Hmm. Will my phone need to be activated for either of these methods to work? I was planning on swapping to another phone and then cleaning this current one up.

Just spent hours trying to use Erase all settings and rerunning jailbreak which did nothing. Then found this, googled iLex Rat, ran through process and worked PERFECTLY!!!!!

Thanks for the iLex Rat mention!!!!!
