How to download photos from Iphone to computer hard drive

I just wanted to know the procedure to download the photos on my iPhone to my personnel computer hard drive.

Mac or PC? iCloud works... If using a PC and the iCloud Control Panel, you can set it up to sync from iCloud to computer... Or a Mac, set up the Mac Photos app to download from iCloud as long as you're also using iCloud Photo on your phone.

iCloud only has 5GB of storage, though (on the free version). It fills up rather quickly.
