Keep Facebook, the stock Mail app, and TapaTalk swiped out of multitasking when not in use. Toggle off Wifi Assist in Settings. Toggle off any unnecessary apps using location services. Toggle off all those in system services except Find My iPhone. Toggle off Frequent Locations. Stay on WiFi as much as possible. Listen to offline music, rather than stream.
