How often do you update your iPad?

When Apple finally releases the new iPad Mini 5 and/or Pro model! Last real update was in the Mini 3 with the A8. In 2015, Mini 4 had the same A8 but Apple double the RAM to 2GB! We are approaching 2019 in a little over a month and still no update Mini!

I still own the original 12.9” iPad Pro but I don’t have any plans to upgrade as of now. As much as I love the design of the new iPads (although very utilitarian for Apple, in my opinion) I just don’t put a ton of mileage on my iPad. Even at home on the couch I usually prefer to use my iPhone. *
My kids, on the other hand, aren’t old enough for phones yet (not in my household anyway) so they both have iPads and use them daily. My oldest has a 2017 iPad and my youngest has a Mini from a few years back.

My iPad Pro will be paid off in two months. It runs perfectly. Not upgrading it. As long as updates are sent out I am perfectly ok. I also have the 2018 9.7 iPad and I am ok

Our iPad Air 2 has served us well for 4 years now so we're upgrading to both an iPad 2017 and iPad 2018 for Christmas. Hopefully these iPads will last just as long. The iPad Air 2 will now become a backup device.

I'm still using my Air 2... it's working fine... the only thing that makes me want to update is that I'm intrigued with the newer models, AND I want more space other than the 32GB I'm currently dealing with!

Every other update cycle. Currently using 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. Updates usually are incremental, and don’t justify expense of update every time one becomes available.

My iPad Pro 9.7 (2016) has my daily since ‘16. Today my 11 in pro came and the 9.7 has been given to my mother (casual user.)

Just upgraded to an 11-inch Pro as well, from the 9.7-inch, which was my first iPad. Hoping this one lasts me just as long, if not longer.

Don’t remember if I posted here before.

I purchased an Air 2 in December 2014 and upgraded to the 2018 Pro 12.9” in July 2019. Honestly it’s the longest I’ve ever went between upgrades of an Apple device.

The 2020 12.9 is my third iPad. I bought the first gen when the second came out. I bought the 10.5 pro last year. The magic keyboard sold me for work so, I splurged this time. I maybe could have done with last years 12.9 but, I’ve been so good.

I have the 2018 9.7. My pencil works with it
I am still happy with it. I paid upfront for it at Best Buy. Got it at a great price. I see no need to upgrade. Still have my 2015 Mac Pro too. Works great!

I upgraded to the 11 max pro phone a few months ago. I don’t need to add to my bill

I used to have the "new iPad" ("iPad 3" or the original Retina iPad) when it came out in 2012. I eventually gave it to my parents.

Last week, I purchased the 3rd generation iPad Air for my online courses. So I kind of upgraded.

I have the 2017 iPad 9.7, it’s fine, has not slowed down yet. does everything I need except make tea. Also, in reserve I have my gen 3 ipad which is slow, but works fine for reading etc, but not much fun for going back and forth between apps.
