How much is too much for an iPhone case? ($5,000 Louis Vuitton Case...)

What's cheap, middle of the road, and expensive for the average iPhone user?

I tend to avoid the "cheap" cases since I really don't care for the quality of most. I prefer cases that last, and have some sort of appealing form or function. I would say $30-$50 is middle of the road, and expensive as $75+. As for my collection of cases, the bulk of them fall into the middle range, with a couple in the higher end which include a Lifeproof FRE and a Mophie Juicepack.

After seeing Luois Vuitton's iPhone 7 Plus case retail for a staggering $5,000 I'm just curious to know, how much is too much for an iPhone case? I understand this question is subjective, because if you like a case and have the money, then why not spend the $5k (I guess?).

I wouldn’t spend more than maybe $50 on a case, and even that’s a stretch for me. I certainly can’t justify spending more on a case than I did the actual phone! That’s insane, especially when most users upgrade every 2-3 years and end up having to buy all new cases (then there’s people like me who upgrade annually ).
