How is the screen in direct sunlight?

My Treo is usable in direct sunlight but then you can see the grid dots for the digi. But it is definitely usable, no problem. What is the iPhone screen like in direct sunlight?

I find it far better than my treo. Very bright. A little washed out sometimes, but definitely always readable.

Capacitive screens (like on the iPhone) should be better than resistive screens (like on the Treo) because they don't have the plastic, deformable outer layer and so avoid the internal reflection that this causes.

No. Very high contrast, very sharp text - almost like text on paper.

Agreed. Excellent screen in daylight. The only time I have an issue is when I play a movie that has very dark backgrounds, like Batman Returns, in direct sunlight. At all other times, the screen is excellent.
