How is the performance on iPhone 4?

I know the GM is out, so I was wondering how iOS 5 performance is on the iPhone 4? I remember when I had the iPhone 3G and upgraded to the newer iOS version at that time it made the phone really slow. I wished I had not upgraded. So, I was wondering if the same thing goes for this release, or does it still run smoothly?

It seems to run pretty smoothly but I just loaded it this morning. It lags a bit here and there but really not much more than 4.3.x did for me. I'll know more in a few days but that is the early report.

Ios5 GM on the Iphone4 is as smooth as a 2012 Corvette ZR1 on the showroom floor

Honestly I really think iOS5 is slightly faster and better performing than iOS4.x. Some of the apps aren't fully ready yet (all of the google voice apps) but it's been running great. Battery for me takes a slight hit when using location reminders but that's the only issue for me. The biggest adjustment is figuring out if you want to change your backup/syncing workflow now that iCloud is in the picture.

I'm pretty sure it only syncs/backup when plugged in and locked unless you start the sync manually.

So, it shouldn't have an effect on battery life.

It's running very smoothly for me. Just as smooth as iOS 4.
