How does one know how much your Apple pencil is charged or has charge left in it?

There a cap at the top of the pencil that you remove to expose a lightning port and it can be charged with any lightning cable plugged into a charger or computer. To check the battery status pull down on Notification Center and check your Today view. You should see a battery widget displaying the remaining battery life. If you don't see the Battery widget, add it.

Anybody else have times when swiping down the notification's panel doesn't show the iPad or Pencil battery remaining percentage? It works fine 80% of the time but times like today it just won't show up. I've restarted and removed it from widget and readded it.

Strange it works just fine in portrait mode but won't work at all in landscape. Later today it will probably work fine both ways!
