How does Dark Mode / Night Shift work?

I never really tried Dark Mode/Night Shift, even though I'm running the latest macOS since it was released... so this might sound silly to some of you.

Anyway, I'm just curious how does Dark Mode work exactly?

• Will it change ALL the colors, or are the darker colors only reserved for the actual UI's of the system (as well as the supporting apps).
What I mean by this, when doing some graphics design... will colors that you work with also be affected, or will Dark Mode purely change the UI itself?
• And is it possible to configure Dark Mode, so that it automatically switches at the same moment that the Dynamic Desktop wallpaper changes?

I really like the Light/Dark shifts, but I would only use it if it doesn't screw up the colors during graphics design.

Just turn it on and see if it does or doesn't do what you want it to do. You can always turn the toggle switch on or off.
